Welcome to CSEET. We will study The Communication Process, Types of Communication and Barriers, work through an example, and practise using the course's learning material. Foundation-entry stage preparation for CS aspirants. Accounting bridge plus current-scheme orientation, communication, economic/business environment, law and management readings, four original 100-mark sampled practice papers, and detailed cash-book/rectification case practice with two explained 20-mark tasks. Sign in and use the study header to open your authorised course. Select this published lesson. Start Course Tutor with Auto audio on: it teaches continuously, answers a typed question, then resumes. 1. Sender (or communicator) — the person who has an idea and starts the process. 2. Encoding — converting the idea into symbols: words, figures, gestures, pictures. 3. Message — the encoded content itself. 4. Channel or medium — the route the message travels by: face-to-face talk, telephone, letter, e-mail, notice board, video call. Scenario 1. The HR manager of a company in Pune sends a circular in English full of legal terms to factory workers, many of whom read mainly Marathi. Attendance at the new safety training is poor. Step 1: Identify the elements. Sender: HR manager. Channel: written circular. Receivers: factory workers. Step 2: Find where decoding failed. The workers could not decode legal terms in a language they read with difficulty. Step 3: Classify the barrier. This is a semantic (language) barrier. Step 4: Remedy. Use simple words in the workers' language, add a short oral briefing by the supervisor and invite questions, which builds in feedback. Which mistake would change the reasoning in this example? 1. Treating noise as sound only. Noise is any interference, including jargon and distraction. Correct: define noise as anything that distorts the message at any stage. 2. Confusing encoding and decoding. Encoding is done by the sender, decoding by the receiver. Ask Course Tutor: please explain this step from the example. Step 1: Identify the elements. Sender: HR manager. Channel: written circular. Receivers: factory workers. Step 2: Find where decoding failed. Why does it follow? Add what you tried, so the explanation addresses your difficulty. Now try the source practice. Which element of the communication process turns a one-way message into two-way communication? Pause before the answer. The source answer is: Answer: Feedback, because it tells the sender whether the receiver understood the message. Compare your reasoning as well as the result. If your response differs, return to the worked example and identify the step that needs correction. Explain the key idea in your own words, revisit any mistaken step, then continue to the next lesson. Use Stop to end Course Tutor when you finish.
