Welcome to LLM — Criminal Law. This video adapts a worked example from your published course reading, then shows how to practise through the learning management system. Postgraduate academic support for LLM — Criminal Law, including advanced concept notes, research orientation, assessment practice and dissertation support. The underlying degree is awarded only by the learner's recognised institution. Sign in and open your authorised course through the study header. Select a lesson from its current published reading list. With Auto audio on, Course Tutor teaches continuously, answers a typed question, then resumes. The reading asks which facts support the alleged offence and which facts connect other participants to it. Presence in a group does not replace an analysis of the applicable liability requirements. Four men go to recover a debt. Two carry sticks. During an argument, one strikes the debtor’s head, causing death. The others are described as demanding payment but not striking. The source explores possible liability without giving a complete evidential record. For the striker, examine the weapon, body part, force, sequence and evidence of intent; a death alone does not answer every mental-element question. For the companions, identify their conduct and any evidence of a shared intention. The source also discusses common-object liability, but its scenario states only four people. An unlawful assembly requires at least five, so four named participants alone do not establish that requirement. The stated facts do not justify automatically assigning the same offence to everyone. Under the common-intention analysis, a shared intention may develop during the incident; an earlier meeting is not essential in every case. Infer it from the evidence rather than merely from group presence. Can the two sticks alone prove that all four intended the fatal blow? Include the illustration's given facts and the step you tried when asking Course Tutor. They are relevant facts, not a complete inference. Examine how the participants acted and what the applicable legal test requires. Now try this related practice question. Why must common intention and common object be analysed separately in this example? Pause before checking the answer. They involve distinct requirements. Check the evidence of shared intention, the statutory conditions for an unlawful assembly and each participant’s role. Do not use one label to bypass a missing requirement of the other. Use this learning routine with your course's published material. Read, attempt a step, ask about what is unclear, and compare your reasoning. Revisit an error before continuing to the next lesson.
