Welcome to CA Final Complete. We will study Ind AS 115 Revenue: The Five-Step Model Applied, work through an example, and practise using the course's learning material. Comprehensive CA Final stage coaching. Sign in and use the study header to open your authorised course. Select this published lesson. Start Course Tutor with Auto audio on: it teaches continuously, answers a typed question, then resumes. Step 2 — Identify the performance obligations. A performance obligation is a promise to transfer a good or service that is distinct, or a series of substantially the same distinct goods or services transferred in the same pattern. Example 3 — Principal or agent. An online portal sells hotel rooms at prices set by the hotels, never takes inventory risk and earns a fixed 12 per cent of each booking. The portal does not control the room before it is transferred to the guest, so it is an agent and reports only its commission as revenue. Which mistake would change the reasoning in this example? Allocating a discount entirely to the largest item. Correction: allocate proportionately to SSPs unless observable evidence shows the discount belongs to a particular bundle. Recognising the full contract price on signing. Ask Course Tutor: please explain this step from the example. An online portal sells hotel rooms at prices set by the hotels, never takes inventory risk and earns a fixed 12 per cent of each booking. Why does it follow? Add what you tried, so the explanation addresses your difficulty. Now try the source practice. A contract promises software and customisation that significantly modifies the software. How many performance obligations are there? Pause before the answer. The source answer is: One. The customisation significantly modifies the software, so the promises are not distinct in the context of the contract and form a single combined obligation. Explain the key idea in your own words, revisit any mistaken step, then continue to the next lesson. Use Stop to end Course Tutor when you finish.
